The Schotia Tooth & Claw Safari is a six hour guided game drive in an open Land Rover or Land Cruiser with a short refreshment and toilet break at the halfway point. After an amazing experience, where you will view more animals than you thought possible, you will enjoy a delicious home cooked dinner in our beautiful open air lapa.

We try to show our guests as much as possible on a drive and concentrate on the popular sightings like Rhino, Buffalo, Elephant, Hippo, Giraffe and the King of the Beasts – Lions!!

A short, spot lit night game drive providing the possibility of more nocturnal animals completes your experience as we return to our reception area.

Arrival and Reception

Meet at reception: sign indemnity, make payments, verify bookings Meet your guide/ranger Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee

Preparation

Ensure you have cameras, batteries, jackets, binoculars, etc. Lock your vehicle and switch off headlights Inform the office of any special requirements (wheelchairs, frail, children, fears, allergies, dietary needs)
No fruit allowed in any bags or pockets (elephants attracted to food scent)

Safari Game Drive

From 14h00/15h00 to about 17h30/18h30: view animals such as antelope, wildebeest, zebra, crocodile, giraffe, rhino, hippo, elephants, lions Toilet and refreshment stop around 15h30/16h30

Evening Meal at the Lapa

Around 18h00/19h00: cooked meal around the fires Menu includes venison or beef stew/roast, chicken casserole, potato dish, rice, vegetables, home-made bread, dessert, tea/coffee

End of Game Drive

Usually ends about 20h00/21h00 May extend if lions are found or a kill witnessed Drive shortened only if all guests want to return early (despite rain or other conditions) Return trip offers chances to spot nocturnal animals
