We’re excited to offer you a truly special experience—staying “in the bush” and enjoying an authentic African bush adventure, with just a few cozy comforts to make you feel at home. To keep things real and meaningful, we don’t provide a traditional 5-star rating, but we promise you’ll leave with wonderful memories of true bush life.

Experience the old romantic charm of Africa at the Orlando Tented Camp, nestled within Schotia Safaris Private Game Reserve in the malaria-free Eastern Cape. We have three private tented camps with a total of four tents. One camp features two tents—one with two single beds and the other with a queen bed.

Our tented camps offer complete freedom, as each encampment is safely secluded in private clusters of bush. This means you’ll be surrounded by lush greenery, tall trees, singing birds, peaceful antelope, and the distant roar of lions, creating a truly natural and uninterrupted bush experience.

Every tented camp has been crafted with great care and attention to detail, from the old-style donkey boilers to the luxurious private bathrooms with scenic views and refreshing outdoor showers.

Dinner is served in our authentic African-style lapa, where guests gather around the warm glow of a campfire. Enjoy traditional South African meals that are sure to satisfy your taste buds, especially after an exciting day of game viewing.

Schedule Details

Day 1
  • Arrival time 13h30 / 14h30. Please note: you do not go to your lodge before the game drive
  • Register at our office and sign indemnity
  • Meet your ranger and enjoy a cup of tea/coffee before departing on game drive
  • Guided game drive from 14h00 / 5h00 to 17h30 / 18h30 (viewing Antelope, Zebra, Rhino, Giraffe etc…)
  • 15h30 / 16h30 Refreshment and toilet stop
  • Continue on guided game drive viewing nocturnal animals, Hippo and LIONS!!
  • 18h00 / 19h00 return to Lapa for a scrumptious meal cooked over open fires.
  • Night drive as you retire to your accommodation for a restful night’s sleep
Day 2
  • Wake and enjoy an early morning game drive
  • Breakfast
  • Transfer back to HQ Office about 10h00am
  • Depart

What does it include?

By adding Addo Elephant Park, your total package will then include 4 guided game drives, one of which takes place inside Addo Elephant Park.

What does it include?

  • Schotia will take you on a guided tour through Addo Elephant Park in a closed vehicle.
  • Lunch is provided.
  • Transfer back to Schotia HQ Office.
  • Join another Schotia guided drive for more great sightings of lions, rhino, giraffe, and more.
  • Enjoy a lovely dinner in our Lapa.
  • Experience a night drive, then retire to the lodge for a restful night.

Day 3:

  • Wake up and enjoy a morning game drive (optional).
  • Breakfast at 09:00.
  • Departure around 10:00.

By adding an Extra Night + Addo Elephant Park Game Drive, your total package will then include 7 guided game drives, one of which is inside Addo Elephant Park, all meals, tea, coffee, water, and two nights’ accommodation in the booked lodging.

What does it include?

  • You will take yourself on a drive through Addo Elephant Park in your own vehicle.
  • You may have lunch at Addo Park or alternatively at Nanaga Farm Stall or a place of your choice.
  • Please return to Schotia HQ Office by 13:30 / 14:30.
  • Join another Schotia guided drive to enjoy more great sightings of lions, rhino, giraffe, and others.
  • Enjoy another lovely dinner in our Lapa.
  • Experience a night drive, then retire to the lodge for a restful night.

Day 3:

  • Wake up and enjoy a morning game drive (optional).
  • Breakfast at 09:00.
  • Departure around 10:00.
